For the “Camp OUT NOW” event Peace of the Action will be providing housing from March 13th-March 30th at St. Stephen’s and the Incarnation Church at 1525 Newton Street NW. The closest metro stop is Colombia Heights on the green and yellow line.
Please email robby@peaceoftheaction.org to reserve a spot. Donations will be accepted since the church asks for donations to use their space. Other than that please see list below for other housing options and transportation guide.
(IMPORTANT NOTE: Please remember that if you are planning on camping out with us on the lawn of the Washington Monument your tent must NOT have spikes/stakes. This type of tent is known as FREE STANDING. And you might remember to have a few items of decent weight on hand to hold down the tent in case of winds.)

TRANSPORTATION GUIDE
Drop Off and Pick Up Locations of Passengers
Below are drop off and pick up locations available to buses to off load and load passengers around the US Capitol. Each of these locations is designated for active loading and unloading of passengers only. Each group should assess which options work best for them.
- Union Station: Buses may ENTER Union Station from Union Station Dr. off of Massachusetts Ave NE at the front entrance of the station for drop off and pick of passengers only. Unloading and pick up will be done at the front of the building. There is enough room for nine buses to drop off and pick up at one time. If there is excessive traffic, security may direct buses to the semi-circular drive in front of the fountain to unload passengers. Security will direct buses to the circular drive if this is necessary.
- If buses are PARKING at Union Station, they should continue up to the parking level and drop off people at the parking level once the bus is parked there. The cost is for $30/day. Please note: There is no reserved parking at Union Station. To check for availability drivers can call on the day of at 202-898-1950
- US Capitol (zip code 20002): Buses may ENTER US Capitol Grounds at 3rd Street and Maryland Ave SW or 3rd Street and Pennsylvania Ave NW. Buses may EXIT US Capitol Grounds at 3rd Street and Maryland Ave SW, 3rd Street and Pennsylvania Ave NW, or 1st Street and Louisiana Ave NW.Loading and unloading of passengers MUST occur at the east curb of:
- 1st Street and Maryland Ave SW (east curb of Garfield Circle)
- 1st Street and Pennsylvania Ave NW (east curb of Peace Circle).
- Armory Metro Rail Station near RFK Stadium: Buses may drop their passengers at RFK stadium. Stadium Armory Metrorail Station is three blocks from the bus parking lot at RFK Stadium where passengers can be dropped off. Passengers can then walk to the station and take the metro to Capitol South Station just three stops on the blue or orange lines and walk to Upper Senate Park for the Rally at 11am. Once activities are finished passengers can take the metro back to the bus lot at RFK stadium using the metro rail system. They should take the metro at Capitol South Station to the Armory Metrorail Station where they can walk back to their buses at the RFK stadium bus parking lot and board their buses for the return journey back to their state.
Bus Parking: Parking for up to 500 motorcoaches is available at RFK Stadium. Parking is available on Lot 8. Parking is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $30/day with in-and-out privileges. Credit cards accepted for prepaid vouchers, but only cash or vouchers are accepted on site. Lot 8 is three blocks from Stadium Armory Metrorail Station. Buses may drop their passengers here and passengers can then take the metro to Capitol South Station in time for events at Upper Senate Park near the Capitol. Lot 8 Parking Directions:
- To enter Lot 8 motorcoaches use the SE/SW (Eisenhower) Expressway Eastbound.
- Follow signs to RFK Lot 8, which takes motorcoaches beneath Barney Circle at the East end of the road.
- Proceed through the RFK Stadium gates and down RFK access road. Payment and vouchers will be collected at the junction of the access road and Lot 8.
